so we planted seeds and talked about spring and all those wonderful things at school today. and one dear little kindergarten scientist piped up with a comment about how he can't wait for when the bunnies hatch. boy, we're all gonna be waiting for a looooong time... :) i fear there might be a great deal of disappointment in his near future.

oh, and for the record, it takes seeds longer than 10 seconds, 10 minutes, 31 minutes, 36 minutes, or even 100 seconds to grow. we proved it today. yay for kindergarten predictions and observations!

my kindergarten class was lining up to go home today. i was helping a few students get things cleaned up and ready to go. i looked over and saw...

two of my students doing the tango across the room.

yeah.

beat that.

one of my children stated today, quite matter-of-factly, "marilyn monroe is a ghost, and she lives in colorado."

so there you have it. be the first to know. :)

so it's been a little while since i last posted...oops. anyway, i'm now teaching kindergarten again, but in a brand new school this time. it's so brand new, in fact, that my room isn't even done yet. lucky me. sigh. so, in the meantime, here's a little synopsis of a fairly "normal" day in the life of my 24 little darlings. :)

7:35 - 8:15     come to the library, eat breakfast there since the lunch room isn't done, wait to leave with class
8:15     get backpacks, leave with class, go to 2nd grade "discovery zone" between the 2nd grade classes
8:15 - 8:55     calendar, weather, and other morning stuff in 2nd grade DZ
8:55 - 9:20     PE outside, since the gym isn't done either
9:20     go back to 2nd grade DZ, get backpacks, line up, go to buses
9:45     arrive by bus at another school's modular, where we're temporarily meeting
12:15 - 12:25     walk to yet another school, where we're temporarily eating lunch
12:25 - 12:35     restroom break in 5th/6th grade school where we eat lunch
12:35 - 12:55     lunch
12:55     walk back to 2nd school's playground for recess
2:15     pack up backpacks again, go to buses
2:40     arrive back at original school for music
2:40 - 3:00     music in computer lab or library reading room, since music rooms aren't done yet
3:00 - 3:10     pack up backpacks, go back to 2nd grade DZ again for day's closing
3:10     walk out to meet parents or buses

so there you have it. never a dull moment in our lives! :)

earlier last week, a student brought in a stuffed animal that could talk for show and tell. on friday, faith brought in three beanie babies. another child asked her if they could talk. faith's answer? "no, but they're learning how." :)
